The central main square of the village is a natural balcony overlooking the Mediterranean vegetation so rich in oak trees, bay trees, bluberries, blackberries and strawberries. From the square, in case of very good weather conditions, it is possible to see the roofs of Rome at a distance! Along the main central narrow street there are the typical leather artisan shops producing leather items such as boots, bags, shoes, belts, slippers and saddles The local leather artisans started their activity some centuries ago when the Tolfa cowboys needed saddles for their horses. The guided visit of the leather workshops will be an authentic local experience which will disclose to you the beautiful traditions linked to the Butteri, the local cowboys who still work on horseback to take care of their cows.
