Capalbio is a quaint small medieval village located in southern Tuscany, on the border between Lazio and Tuscany, also known as the “ last town in the Maremma ”and it is nestled between the countryside and the woods.
Capalbio’s historical city center has remained almost unchanged since the Aldobrandeschi’s dominion in the eleventh century. That’s why time seems to stand still when you walk in the narrow streets climbing up to the Aldobrandeschi Fortress.
Its walkable crenellated walls boast a wonderful panoramic view of the Valley below.
You can’t miss a visit of the little Collacchioni Palace with its three floors finely painted with frescos and decorated in a Renaissance style.
After the visit of Capalbio, you may decide either

* to enjoy lunch in a panoramic restaurant (the most typical local recipe is homemade pasta dressed with wild boar tomato sauce) 
or
* to enjoy the visit of a beautiful winery, its panoramic vineyard and the cellars. At the end of the visit, you would taste 3 amazing wines with some local produce.

Afterwards, you may visit the closeby artistic Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle with its 22 monumental sculptures (22 arcanes) covered with polychrome ceramics, mirrors or precious glasses. They remind of the amazing Barcelona’s Park Güell but they are unique for their symbolic meaning!
