Location

Perugia is a medieval town in Umbria, region that is right in the centre of Italy and can easily reach by motorway Rome and Florence in two hours.

The history of Perugia starts on the XI cent. B.C. , it is one of the most important Etruscan towns and you can still see part of the Etruscan walls that surrounded the city and the famous Etruscan Arch.  After the etruscan, Perugia became a roman city, and centuries later part of the Papal States.


Today is a very lively and modern city, keeping with great care its history.  Anybody wishing to learn italian as a foreign language, the well known University for Foreigners (University per Sranieri) organizes courses all year round.  Famous events such as Umbria Jazz Festival, la Sagra Musicale Umbra, Perugia Classico, Euro Chocolate take place in this town.

In Umbria you can also visit art towns such as Assisi, Spoleto, Orvieto, Todi, Spello, Deruta, Gubbio, Gualdo Tadino…
