The history

This magnificent property consists of an ancient building called “il palazzo” (the palace) and 7 hectares of land (wood, Italian garden, vegetable garden, olive groove).
The outstanding palazzo was built in the 16th century by the Vaselli family who were well known counts in this region. It was one of their many loved and enjoyed homes, where countless gala events would take place in the ball room towering with 6 meter high ceilings.

            The property , after being sold in the early 19th century, passed through many hands until the mid ‘80s when it was subdivided and sold to 5 Italian families who have been responsible for the reconstruction of the property to its original state today. They have worked under the supervision and strict guidance of the Sovraintendenza of the Ministry for culture and the fine arts. It has been classified as a National Monument. 
The palazzo consists of three levels and has been subdivided into six residences. The majestic arched wooden door enters into the hallway leading to the residences. 
A large staircase leads to the upper floors.

                 The gardens

The property sits atop of a hill overlooking the superb Umbrian countryside and surrounded by splendid flora. An Italian garden is situated on the eastern side incorporating also an ancient 19th century well still intact.
A huge hew tree (Taxus baccata) dominates the garden and is one of the oldest in Europe. Two majestic cedar trees add to its beauty. From the rear of the palace, where a charming courtyard is located, one may wander through the many paths in the forest filled in abundance with cypresses, pines and oaks planted here more than 100 years ago and equally belonging to the property. A vegetable garden and an olive plantation consisting in around 70-80 trees add to the richness of the flora of this property.

       Apartment  (second floor)

This perfectly refinished, cosy apartment consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and a large dining and lounge room, each with a magnificent view on the woods, on the Italian garden and on the Corciano landscape.
The main bedroom has a double bed and consists of a walk-in wardrobe and an en-suite bathroom (with a large Jacuzzi) enhanced by beautiful parquetry. The second bedroom contains an ancient double bed . 
The third bedroom has a single bed and a wide mezzanine with another single bed. The second bathroom has a shower and Amalfi blue tiles.
The beautiful and functional kitchen has all the modern conveniences (maxi-oven, micro-wave oven, dish-washer etc.). Adjacent to it is a laundry room with washing machine.
The dining and lounge room (50 square mts) has an original open fireplace with tiles from the 16th century. It contains a large dining table and seats, couches and arm chairs, libraries and chests of drawers. A mezzanine level with library overlooks the living room and leads to an attic bedroom with skylight. 
This second apartment can be rented at any time and can receive with all conforts 6/7 persons ( 2double bed rooms and 2 single bed rooms + mezzanine ) and 2 bathrooms .
