    In the heart of the Chianti area, 3 Km from Montespertoli and within easy reach of both Florence and Siena, this beautiful recently restored farmhouse, divided into apartments,  lies on a hill overlooking the valley and San Gimignano, .

Description of the apartment

The apartment has a large fenced private garden with a terrace overlooking the pools. The terrace also features scenic views of the surrounding hills, vineyards, olive trees, and the distant towers of San Gimignano, perfect location to have your italian dinner sipping a glass of Chianti wine. The swimming pools are located in the common area. One is 8 x 15 meters and the children's pool is 3 x 5 meters. Parking is also available.

The ground floor features a private entrance into the living room from the garden. The living room has a double sofa bed as well as satellite TV with English speaking channels. The kitchen and dining area includes a dishwasher and microwave as well as a cooktop, oven, and refrigerator. There is also a half bath with a washing machine on the ground floor. The first floor: (same as second floor in the U.S.) includes a bedroom with a queen size bed and a bathroom with a shower.

Montespertoli

Montespertoli is an important center for grape and wine production. It is located in the Val d'Elsa and the famous Chianti region of Tuscany. All the basic necessities can be found in the town. This includes a small alimentari (grocery store), a restaurant, banks, a post office, a gas station, and a doctor's office. Montespertoli is easily reached from Firenze (Florence) by taking the Ginestra Fiorentina exit from the Superstrada Firenze - Livorno. The location is one of the most scenic areas of the wine region and provides for easy access to Siena, Pisa, San Gimignano, and Volterra as well as Firenze and other sites in the region making it ideal for day trips.

In Montespertoli an interesting Romanesque baptismal font can be found in the church of Sant'Andrea.

The rectory of the thousand-year old parish church of San Pietro in Mercato in nearby San Pancrazio has now become the Museo d'Arte Sacra. It includes works of art from area churches, many that were de-consecrated or abandoned. Paintings include the Madonna by Filippo Lippi and the Triptych by Cenni di Francesco. The museum also features wall decorations and paper-based material of importance. The building is organized as a basilica and it maintaines its original Romanesque features despite various changes. It was consecrated in 11th century but probably dates from an earlier time.

The church of San Martino in the nearby small medieval village of Lucardo is also of interest. Traces of its original Romanesque design remain despite an 18th century remodeling.
